2007 Motolite Rules
- Classes: One Class combining: 111cc Air cooled 2 Strokes, 85cc Water cooled 2 Strokes (No enabled power valves) 159cc 4 valve single cylinder 4 Strokes 185cc 2 valve single cylinder 4 strokes 159cc 2 valve per cylinder twin cylinder 4 strokes Open to any Grade of Rider.
- Engines: Choice of engines is open, any engine conforming to capacity and valve constraints under "Classes" (section 1) Except: No road race/GP or hand built engines
- Forks: Forks may be of any diameter, conventional or upside down.
- Frames: Choice of frames is open
- Brakes: Brake modification is permitted.
- Tyres: Tyres to be readily available in Australia. No Slicks, Intermediates or Wet Weather Racing tyres permitted. Tyres are to be as they left the manufacturer (ie: No Regrooving)
- Fuel: Shall be As per GCR's only
The implementation and enforcement of the BRA Racing Rules is governed by the BRA committee. Penalties for noncompliance will be determined by the committee.
RANDOM FUEL CHECKS & CAPACITY CHECKS WILL BECARRIED OUT DURING THE YEAR.
2007 Superlite Rules
1) Classes
2 Stroke Class: 105cc
4 Stroke Class: 150cc single cylinder & 150cc Twin Cylinder.
Each class is divided into 2 grades: Pro & Amateur
2) Frames
Frames shall be from homologated, non-competition, Road or Trail machines only. Frames shall be twin shock design only (ie: No single shock frames to be used).
Frames currently homologated are as follows:
Bridgestone: 90/100
Honda CB 100/125/175 K,J,S,N,T; XL 100/125/175/185, SL 100/125, H 100, MT 125, CT 100/125/185.
Kawasaki: KH 100/125, G4, G7, KE100/125 KV 100, KM 100
Suzuki: GP 100/125, A 100, TS 100/125, TF 100/125, GS 125, DR 125 DS 80, GT 125, TC 100/125
Yamaha: DX 100, DT 100/125/175, RX 100/125, LS1, LS3, RD 125, RT 100, AS3, YL1, YB1
2a) Frame Modifications
Only minor modifications may be made to the frame to allow the fitment of seat, triple clamps (steering dampers), shock mount positions, or fuel tanks. The addition of bracing and removal of unnecessary brackets is permitted. No restrictions on the use of swing arms. Frame must remain in the original configuration and only twin shock frames to be used. (i.e. no single shock frames permitted).
The decision as to whether a modification is to be regarded as minor is to be determined be the BRA committee. Persons are directed to contact the BRA committee to seek a determination as to whether a modification is eligible.
3) Forks
Forks must be no larger than 33mm in diameter.
4) Engines
Heads, Barrels & Crankcases shall be from homologated non-competition Road or Trail machines only. The following are currently homologated:
Bridgestone: 90/100
Honda: CB 100/125/175 K,J,S,N,T; XL 100/125/175/185/200, SL 100/125, H 100, MT 125, CT 100/125/185, ATC 200, XR 200.
Kawasaki: KH 100/125, G4, G7, KE100/125 KV 100, KM 100
Suzuki: GP 100/125, A 100, TS 100/125, TF 100/125, GS 125, DR 125 DS 80, GT 125, TC 100/125, DF 125,(DR 200, TLF 200 Head and cylinder only)
Yamaha: DX 100, DT 100/125/175, RX 100/125, LS1, LS3, RD 125, RT 100, AS3, YL1, YB1 (only 2 valves per cylinder are permitted on 4 strokes)
Engine Modifications
4a) 4 stroke Cylinder head modifications:
4ai) 4 stroke cylinder heads shall remain in original configuration
i.e. Valves shall remain original angles and position and shall remain standard sizes only (no larger valves to be fitted)
4aii) Porting is permitted
4aiii) standard camshafts must be used: camshaft modifications are not permitted.
Note. Camshafts that interchange between homologated models may be used. i.e. CB may be used in XL, GS may be used in DR etc.
4b) 2 stroke cylinder modifications
2 stroke barrels/cylinders shall be restricted to an exhaust port width of 70% of the bore diameter with the standard number of ports.
5) Brakes
Brake modification is permitted. Disc brakes are limited to single or twin piston callipers only.
6) Tyres
Tyres to be readily available in Australia; No slicks or wet racing tyres; Tyres are to be as they ldft the manufacturer, No modifications (ie. No regroving) Maximum tyre sizes are restricted to a width of 100 section E.g. 100/80 x 17
7) Fuel
Shall be as per GCR's. No additives or (octane boosters) other than oil for lubrication.
8) Induction
Induction will be by carburettors only
28mm carburettors maximum for 2 stroke engines (that is 28mm at the narrowest point of the carburettor bore/throat). No fuel injection, no forced air induction
9) Fairings
No full fairings (i.e. No fairings below the top of crankcase)
